Talking Mindfulness (on LBC)
Mindfulness is a wonderful tool for discovering yourself and what makes you tick. If you have depression, anger, resentment, abandonment, rejection, and all sorts of other painful emotions, then look no further. Mindfulness has taught me a lot about how my childhood and early adulthood created who I am now. My experiences very much coloured my opinion of myself and others and so began to hate myself simply because I could not be who people wanted me to be. No one valued me as a person. I felt rejected.
It is amazing how something so simple can alter one’s view of one’s self. Looking at what has coagulated within is not easy. It creates fear. But the only way to the light is by going through the dark. A really long dark night of the soul. The only way to let go of all the pain is to find its source, understand that source and then forgive; both you and the other people in your life.
I managed to talk with Petrie Hosken on LBC in 2015 about this very topic. I’m first but the guy following was a medic, a psychologist, and now a Buddhist monk. He expresses his experience very well. A big thank you to LBC for the opportunity to talk.
