Our Reality

Everything is illusion, Mr. Garibaldi.
Concepts of language, light, metaphor; nothing is real.

Wade to Garibaldi in Babylon 5: The Exercise of Vital Powers

It has been said by many that we create our own reality. In a sense, this is true, but maybe not in the way you think. Our perception is our reality – nothing more, nothing less. We create this due to the experiences we have chosen during our lifetime. We choose to experience these lessons on a Soul level to help us to grow into the Spiritual Being that we really are. Our lessons mould us and form our personality.

Earlier, when I spoke of energy, I left out one very important energy – the energy of thought. Thought can be considered to be the only true energy in the Universe. It is what binds the Universe together into the solid form that we see, feel, hear, taste and smell. We, as the Human race, form agreements as to what is real and what is not. These agreements take place on many levels that range from the global to the individual. I will speak of these agreements later.

A thought is what created the Universe and it is thoughts that form our reality of that Universe. It can only be thought that causes atoms to fuse together to create the molecules that form the living beings we are. As living beings our cells are replaced completely every few years. Cells die and are renewed on a regular basis. So from that standpoint we are definitely not the same person we once were. So why does the scar on my finger remain after 30 years? I must have been replaced at least six times since then.

I chose to experience the accident that caused the scar and so have a memory of the event and its outcome. My thought, based on this memory, retains the image of the scar and so moulds the cells in a particular way that always rebuilds the tissue in that form. It is thought that moulds the image of our body so keeping the recognisable form that we see and continue to see.

Whether we are fat, thin, big or small, we think our body into existence. And our existence is what we think about ourselves. If we believe we are fat it may be that we are generating the tissue to provide us with protection against the world. Perhaps, if we believe we are unloved, we create the tissue to confirm to us the belief that we are unloved. No one would want to love a fat person would they.

Thoughts are very powerful energies. We must be careful what we think or we may bring the very thing to us that we are most fearful of. Be careful what you wish for, because you may get it and not in the way you expect. For some weeks a friend of mine kept saying that she needed a break and a holiday. She eventually booked a holiday but was unable to go because she broke her arm. She got her break, and her time away from work, but not in the way she expected.
